While the following Houston area master planned communities didn’t quite make it the top selling list, they all have show-stopping amenities and have seen incredible sales and growth. Here are my picks for 2022 “Honorable Mentions”!
Riverstone, Sugar Land, Texas
🏡 Riverstone Homes
Riverstone master-planned community in Sugar Land Texas is a 3,800-acre development that has become one of Fort Bend County’s most popular master-planned communities. Riverstone features a mix of townhomes, single-family homes and custom homes ranging from the $600,000s to millions.
🌿 Riverstone Amenities
- Lakeside Living: 200 acres of lakes for fishing and kayaking
- Resort Style Pools: Riverstone has several resort style pools, featuring rock waterfalls, twisting water slides, spray elements, a zero-entry lagoon, splash pad, and a lushly landscaped swimming complex overlooking one of many community lakes.

Grand Central Park, Conroe, Texas
Grand Central Park is centrally located in Montgomery County just 15-minutes from Lake Conroe and nestled among 2,046 acres of lush and forested green space. The Woodlands, Texas
A wooded oasis of modern living tucked just outside the urban center of Houston, The Woodlands Texas is the largest master planned community in the Houston area and is known for its umbrella of trees covering the location. It has been named the #1 Best Place to Live in the nation by Niche.com several years in a row! The Woodlands has seen tremendous growth the past few years from people relocating to Texas, as it fosters the best in family life, career opportunities and neighborhood involvement.
*Note: The Woodlands offers homes build in the late 1970s – 2010s. There is no more new construction, but head north just 15 minutes to The Woodlands Hills (see below) for new construction homes in the new sister master-planned community by the same developer.
The Woodlands Hills, Conroe and Willis, Texas
The Woodlands Hills is a master planned community that has it all: nestled in 2,200 forested acres just 4 miles to Lake Conroe, but also just minutes to upscale shopping, dining and entertainment in The Woodlands. Harper’s Preserve, Conroe, Texas
Harper’s Preserve is a newer gated master-planned community located in Montgomery County in Conroe, and offers new homes from the low $300s to $1M+.
